Q: What types of wood restoration services does Stuart Dean offer and can you give a brief description of what each service entails?

A: Touch-Up – Our technicians touch-up and color-blend nicks, scratches, and abrasions. We then apply a matching finish to the affected area and rubout any overspray.

Recondition – We commercially clean all woodwork, removing old wax and dirt build-up. We then touch-up and color-blend nicks, scratches, and abrasions, and tone-in light areas. We apply a matching finish to all affected areas, scuff-sand all surfaces, and apply two coats of a premium grade finish. The final step is to steel wool between lacquer coats to achieve a smooth finish.

Refinish – We chemically remove existing coating to bare wood, fill any voids, and sand all surfaces smooth. We then stain in the desired color, apply four coats of a premium grade finish, and steel wool between lacquer coats to achieve a smooth finish.

Wood Maintenance – Our technicians touch-up and color-blend nicks, scratches, and abrasions. We apply a matching finish to affected area and then apply a non-oily liquid wax to entire surface (cleaning and replenishing existing coating.)
